I painted this little guy for dear Miss Kaylee's 18th birthday. Technically it's india ink, but does that still count? Not sure...but it was fun! The ink is a bit weird to blend, but it lends a different tone than my normal black watercolor does, so I'm pretty into it.
#16 - the pork
My Mr. asked me to paint him an orc. I tried to warn him I don't do gnarly well, I'm more inclined to pretty, but this was my attempt nonetheless. I'm kind of in love with him even though he does look a bit like Shrek's cracked out cousin, which isn't very intimidating, maybe just a bit sad.

#15 - the not so little mermaids
This week, I'm very happy to finally share a painting that's been in the works for quite some time now. A dear friend of mine asked me to paint this for another friend who just had a sweet baby girl. I was not only excited to tackle something so big, but was honored that some one actually wanted to pay me for one of my paintings! I thank her for the opportunity and was elated by her reaction when she saw it completed.
I also had some fun taking pictures along the way and thought I'd throw those in too.
annnnd the finished product:

#14 back from the dead?
...we'll see. Something happened, I lost all motivation. Went into an artistic hibernation that I feel I'm just now struggling to dig myself back out of. I don't feel too bad though, I tend to run through these cycles. I just need to get back on that horse, as they say.
Anywho, these little guys are actually from Father's Day. "Cash" was for my brother Curtis who is expecting his firstborn son very soon now (can you guess the name?), and is technically just pen, not watercolor. "My Girl" was for my dad, I want to tattoo the heart on him, this was my not-so-suttle hint.

Jock strap face, or "Scold's Bridal" as is her official title, is complete! Although, as I sit here staring at this newly uploaded photo, I already want to tweak a couple things.... but for now I'm done and ready to move on to a bigger and (hopefully) better painting.
